Unireflex Panel Paint, ‘Coolest’ Architectural Invention of the Year

Architects can play cool this summer with the hottest invention of the year, Unireflex paint. Our revolutionary new paint reflects solar rays, no matter what color the paint is. Until today, only white paint has had this ability.

Traditional insulation is often expensive, bland or impractical, and architects have faced a very narrow choice of environmentally enhanced, pre-finished steel products; shades of white paint provided the only variation in tone. With this new invention, Unireflex brings to the market a range of unique color solutions for metallic roofing and cladding.

“Architects have faced two problems: color coatings absorb light and heat, transferring it to the interior; and secondly: the color is prone to change. This invention, this innovative paint, it gives real freedom for architects to design buildings without color limitations, and with proven environmental credentials. Our ground breaking new paint reflects solar rays, no matter what color the paint is,” said Unipanel General Manger, Carolina Silva.

“Unireflex offers a range of pre-finished steel products and services, including advice and guidance covering all aspects of metal design, coating, specification and construction,” said Silva.

She added: “Unireflex products have been specifically developed to support the functional and aesthetic requirements of modern architecture, creating a real partnership for prestige and advanced creativity. The brand includes pre-finished steel products, with unique coating formulas, offering long-term performance and the most comprehensive warranties available.”

“Architects and building designers routinely consider the environmental impacts of various stages of construction, and Unireflex now adds a new dimension to the environmental planning process. Pre-finished steel is easily adjusted to extend the functional lifespan of buildings, making it ideal for renovation projects; and with the variety of Unireflex products now available, it allows professionals to choose almost any color. This flexibility brings a dynamic new freedom, and a new opportunity to enhance the built environment.”

Silva commented: “The durability of pre-finished steel product depends in large part, on the type of metallic coating used, the chemical pre-treatment, the primary quality of paint and lacquer finish, thickness, and the quality of the manufacturing process and consistency.”

“Though all leading construction products used for outdoor applications are designed to withstand an aggressive environment, they are to some extent, affected by it. The main factors that degrade pre-finished steel products and challenge the long-term objectives of architects are: water, oxygen and salt,  UV sunbeams, chemicals and pollutants; abrasives such as sand blown by the wind.”

“Over time, degradation can reach a stage of corrupted appearance which is impractical and visually unacceptable. We are continuously improving our products to postpone this situation.”

Silva added: “Unireflex was conceived through the study, development and optimization of adverse elements, with researchers assessing the impact of these elements on panels and other steel products. We believe we are bringing to the market a product of significant architectural and environmental importance, and a range of product solutions capable of challenging established construction practices.”
